Letter fossils, dinosaur story walks, character puppets and sight-word egg hunts brought reading to life. Campers created their own dinosaur vocabulary books and practiced literacy through hands-on play. Thank you to the families and educators who made this summer possible.

SARA—the Southern Association for Reading Advancement—is a nonprofit helping children in rural Tennessee build strong beginnings through literacy, play and community.
In 2025, our summer literacy camps brought children together at local libraries, and we launched our first Early Learning Center in Winchester. In 2026, the story continued with dinosaur-themed literacy camp, hands-on classroom learning and visits from community helpers.
Our mission stays the same: nurture curious minds, strengthen early reading skills and help children grow in confidence, character and connection. Families, educators, volunteers and local partners make that work possible.
