Dear Bibliophiles,
Breaking News! The SARA Early Learning Center is opening our doors for the first day of school on Tuesday August 5th! We have our first classroom of five children ready to start learning with the SARA staff! We wanted to take the time to introduce parents to our staff and support team who will be helping make the Early Learning Center a nurturing, structured and creative space for all children.
Our Lead Teacher is Heather Dunn, an experienced paraprofessional teacher who has worked with small groups and large, spanning a wide age range. She’s compassionate and patient and is so excited to meet all of her new students.
Our Interim Preschool Director is Hannah Davis, the SARA Board Secretary. With years of experience teaching as well as running administrative tasks, she is ready and excited to help support the SARA Early Learning Center staff as the center grows and develops. She is also a part time teacher at the Early Learning Center, currently leading classes on Fridays.
Our Program Director is Kerry Lynn, who is a recently retired teacher who’s educated children of all ages for the past 20 years. She will be assisting with classroom management and mentoring SARA staff to ensure that standards are adhered to and the teachers have all the support that they need.
Our first day of school at the SARA Early Learning Center marks the beginning of a new chapter for our community. It stands as proof that when a community desires change and a better future for their children, they will do whatever they can to support those changes. We not only want to thank all of our board members for making this possible, but we would also like to thank the local Franklin County Library, Lannom Library and the Coffee County Library for supporting us in our early efforts with the Summer Literacy Camp this past summer. It helped to lay the foundation for our Early Learning Center teaching styles and even brought us some parents who have joined the SARA family in our first classroom. Thank you for your support and for your trust that we have your children’s best interests in mind. Thank you for your patience while we are growing and changing to best suit the community’s needs. Thank you for placing value in our vision. Thank you for your belief that we could succeed.
The SARA Early Learning Center is the first step towards a more educated, more creative, more confident community. We will work tirelessly to improve, to nurture and to strengthen the Learning Center the longer it’s open, and you will all be a vital part of that process. We hope that it will be a cornerstone of the community and a welcoming place for families of any and all kinds. We can’t wait to start learning with you and we can’t wait to keep growing with you.
Our first day of school will be Tuesday, August 5th. If you are still interested in enrolling your child at our center, we will be open for tours for families that join our waitlist (featured on our website!) Please keep watching our social media and our website to see the amazing work that our students create as well as to hear about the SARA Early Learning Center’s growth.
Thank you, and happy back-to-school season to everyone!
–SARA
